Ereban: Shadow Legacy Review

delve into a world filled with mystery and intrigue.

Ereban: Shadow Legacy is a gripping third-person narrative stealth platformer developed by Baby Robot Games. In this game, you step into the shoes of Ayana, the last descendant of a forgotten race, as you delve into a world filled with mystery and intrigue. Harness mystical shadow powers and utilize high-tech gadgets as you navigate through a morally grey universe, unraveling the truth about your past where you came from, and the world around you.

Set against the backdrop of a visually striking world, Ereban: Shadow Legacy offers an immersive experience that captivates you from start to finish. Baby Robot Games, a young indie studio hailing from the streets of Spain, showcases their talent in crafting a compelling narrative adventure through a world that can sometimes feel a bit vacant and unfinished.

Ereban shadow legacy pc review

With eight different and unique chapters to play, Ereban: Shadow Legacy offers around 5.5 to 10 hours of gameplay, depending on your approach. Whether you opt for a silent, shadowy infiltration were killing is sometimes an option should you need too or a more aggressive strategy where killing is the only option, the game adapts to your choices, providing a dynamic experience at the end of playthrough.

Although the world of Ereban can feel empty at times, I found myself captivated in the game’s aesthetics, particularly in the intricately designed interior levels where shafts of light pierce through beautiful futuristic designs, and the casting long shadows upon the weathered desert walls was nice. However, like I have mentioned a few times some outdoor areas felt lacking in detail, detracting slightly from the overall immersion.

While Ereban: Shadow Legacy offer various upgrades and gadgets, I couldn’t help but feel that many of them were underutilized. Only a handful of shadow powers and gadgets proved essential, leaving the rest feeling unnecessary. This diminished the incentive to explore and upgrade, as progression and searching for shadow orbs felt less impactful.

Despite its focus on stealth and having an option to be ruthless, Ereban: Shadow Legacy offers limited options for a lethal approach, with the only primary weapon being a sleek blade forged from the shadows themselves. The game feels like it nudges players towards a passive playstyle, although it does offer three distinct endings based on your choices. However, the differences between these endings may feel understated upon initial playthroughs.

In an attempt to enhance replayability, Ereban: Shadow Legacy encourages players to revisit chapters and discover alternate paths. While this adds some variety, the lack of significant rewards for exploration dampens the experience.

Results
Despite its shortcomings, Ereban: Shadow Legacy delivers moments of heart-pounding excitement as you leap from shadow to shadow, outmaneuvering your foes with cunning agility. While it may not revolutionize the genre, the game offers a satisfyingly lengthy experience with the allure of multiple endings. However, I couldn’t help but wish for more diverse weapon choices and greater freedom in evading enemies while also running through a more congested world.
